    ...Looks like the old Remington with Browning receiver...I have the civilian model called "The Sportsman", OLD Remington with Browning receiver...never had any type of failure and built like a tank...

    Remington made the receiver and the rest of the gun as well under an agreement with Browning. Pretty much the same gun except the Remington lacks the magazine cut off switch the Browning has. The sportsman was a short magazine version.

    Remington m-11, made under licence from Browning

    "the Remington lacks the magazine cut off switch the Browning has"..........they also have a 'buffer' inside the receiver that the Browning doesn't.

    Remington also made Browning A-5's for Browning after the Germans took over the F/N plant in 1939
