I deal with people that have been left items they know very little about a lot of the time. Sometimes they have a trusted friend that they turn to who helps them sort things out, but its still very tricky when you have specific things in your collection.
If you think your loved ones know which of your guns are the machine guns.....you'll be watching from heaven as things go completely off the rails and your widow might just mail one of your full auto firearms off to be sold with all the other things.
So, tie a ribbon around it.....put it in a RED soft case....something that says "this one isn't the same" to whoever will be dealing with these things when you are not here.

Ruh-roh!
Can't wait to hear this story, when the time is right, of course.
Please for the love of God, put them into a trust.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Take your wife, son, daughter....whoever over to the safe, open it, and say "point to the full auto". You'll be surprised what happens if your family doesn't have a lot to do with these things. This is why I think it needs to be standard practice that its marked in some way that this is "it" if someone might be dealing with these things.
Lucky for me.....I'm too broke to have that problem! Well....maybe lucky isn't the right word🥺.
Good advice but I'd suggest taking it a step further and fill out a Form 5 for ALL your NFA items and instruct the beneficiary of said NFA items on how to send it in after your death.
Take care of the business prior to death.
I’m not planning to go anywhere anytime soon but our daughter, an attorney, knows what to do, which ones they are, and they have a copy of my paperwork rubber banded to the stocks. Prior planning prevents ……

Great advice Kasey. Like you, but on a smaller scale, I deal with a lot of estate guns and a lot of times no one knows much about the guns. Right now I am in the middle of an estate with a lot of nice guns, some of which are in parts or partially completed projects. There also happen to be maybe ten more boxes of parts and seven or eight cases of ammo. It takes a lot of time trying to figure out what everything is. But it still beats having a real job.
