Does anybody know what the letters (CFB) mean stamped on the end of this stock under the butt plate. It is a model 39 so I would assume the 1937 is the production date which would be right for a serial number of HS1010. Dunka Shane!!!

I went thru every Marlin book that I have none mention that Marlin ever stamped any of them there. They did write the serial number in pencil there if the stock and receiver were to be separated after finishing
initials of pervious owner.
Owners initials and year he got it most likely. That's a nice rifle, should do well.
nice looking rifle it should do well
at least they did not use a dull nail or a marking pen on the showing section wood or barrel as we have seen in the past . who ever it was had a bit of common sense . I have had several with social security numbers engraved a couple , along the way thank goodness it was so light they polished off .
my younger brother ( RIP ) did some bubby work on more than a few common rifles and shotguns when he was younger granted they were just cheap guns and honestly he did not do too bad with what he had to work with ,, but still 😮
Very nice Marlin Ricci! And just think, Charles Bronson used to shoot that! 😁
