AHC AMERICAN HEROS CHANNEL

I found this channel last week and it has become one of my favorites. Right now there is a show on called Apocalypse: WW1.
I had no idea how far-reaching WW1 was, and how miserable the conditions were. I knew about the poison gas, but there was so much more misery besides that.
For a history lesson on WW1, this is a good show with actual footage that has been colorized.
They also have a lot of WW2 battles that were filmed in the day that have also been colorized.
I expect they may also have the Korean War at some point covered.
For any military history buffs, I highly recommend this channel.
It is on DirecTV channel 287.

When we first signed up for Dish, AHC was on the lineup for a couple of weeks. I loved it. Then they took it off.
Spectrum tv service is notorious for price increases and changing channel lineups without notice . I have had AHC a few time the lose it till the next time they change . I really miss RFD tv .
It used to be the "Military Channel" on DirecTV, but they apparently changed it to include stories of other deserving people like first responders.
I'm glad some of you actually get something of value from your pay every month TV set ups. I paid for DISH for a few years just because I liked watching old movies on TCM. When the monthly dues kept going up, I decided that the one or two channels were just not worth it and pulled the plug.
With an 80 dollar antenna I now enjoy about 10 channels including reruns of many of the shows I grew up watching on ME TV. The money I have saved has added to my guns and ammo stash! 🙂
I've had DirecTV for most of the 35 years I've lived here, but I also have two small TVs on antenna for those rare times when weather blocks out the satellite signal and I need to track that weather via local news stations.
Back to the thread theme...I just re-added the AHC to my Favorites list. I lost interest in it after the name change and had completely forgotten about it. I'll give it a look occasionally to see if the shows are worth seeing. If they show some actual history documentaries (like the "History" channel used to do) I might keep it on the list.
