Crosley Radio Corporation’s 1936 "WLW Model Super-Power Radio Receiver"
It's being willing. I found out early that most men, regardless of cause or need, aren't willing. They blink an eye or draw a breath before they pull the trigger. I won't. ~ J.B. Books

WLW was the clear channel station in Cincinnati, OH. I'm pretty sure Crosley was in Cinci also.

There was a wonderful time when such radios supplied the rich sound - and your own brain supplied the high-definition video. The Shadow, the Lone Ranger, Amos and Andy, Groucho Marx, and Mystery Theater created mindscapes that no Netflix could touch.
True audiophiles also know that vacuum tubes and vinyl disks produce incomparable sounds. Alas, after many decades of flying and shooting, I am not among their ranks. But they know, and I honor those who created that cornucopia of nuanced sound for it. Even if it escapes me.
Oops, wrong damn button again...
I have a 1937 silvertone that my grandfather bought new I even have the original receipt and manual. Back in the 1970's I use to lisen to it. Now all the wires are so frayed I don't want to plug it in.

I noticed the rear firing separate Woofers, mid-range and tweeters. That center woofer must be at least 20 inches !

One thing you don’t see:
” No user serviceable components inside”
I remember listening to Amos and Andy and truly enjoying it. There was also another show I used to listen to about a man and wife that had a closet full of stuff and every time they opened the closet door a bunch of stuff fell out. I'm sure some of you fellow seasoned people can help me remember the name of that show.

Sounds like Dagwood's closet to me Joe. Dagwood was Blondie's husband. I first thought it may have been Fibber McGee from Fibber McGee & Molly but Dagwood put the closet thing out there almost as popular as his famous sandwich!
Fibber McGee and Molly was the one I was thinking of, thanks.
