Winchester model 21

Just got a spectacular Model 21 trap gun from 1941. A cased two barrel set, I think I have traced the original owner who ordered it to a gunsmith and sporting goods store owner in New York City, a Mr. J.P. Dannefelser. It took a couple of hours but it was worth it.

Dang Ricci, the gun gods must be smiling on you this month. You sure have been getting in some fine firearms lately! Bob
This is true Bob. This Winchester is so pretty I may go buy some of those fancy white gloves you see the museum folks wearing.
Probably out of my price range but I will be looking forward to the listing. 12 or 16 gauge, straight or pistol grip? Do you take trading stamps? I think I've got an old book of S&H green stamps around here somewhere.😀 Bob
Pictures or it never happened.🙃
When I list it.
Found some info on J.P. Dannefelser on the L.C.Smith board. Halfway down his great granddaughter replies about the store. Turns out he was an acquaintance of Annie Oakley.
Not sure if you can use any of the info but it is interesting. Bob
Yup. I have spent a couple of hours reading about Mr. D and his family. He died in 1944, was a pretty good gunsmith and trap shooter. After he died his son ran the store. Both the father and son are buried in N.J.
