The way you answer a question paints the history differently. When asked if the military left any dogs the answer was no. Technically a truth was given as no US military dogs were left behind by military ruling.
Working dogs under the care of Americans fleeing Afghanistan and personal pets were left behind due to a CDC ban for fear of various strains of rabies being introduced. The article doesn't rule out that any members of the military K9 Corps are included in the CDC ban.

There was a considerable number of dogs left over there and the Taliban has them.
You will not hear much about it because it makes "Taliban" Joe look bad.
If one watches the major networks other than Fox, you will now find weather and Covid dominate instead of Cuomo and Afghanistan.
