Been a little dry around here the last month or so...Nice soaking rain most of the day....Corn looking pretty good, the beans got in late due to a wet spring. This should help them finish out well...

Finally had a calm day so I could have a bonfire to get rid of some of the debris from the last three storms. Seems like every time I got the yard cleaned up and the limbs ready to burn the wind wouldn't cooperate. Then we would get another soaking and heavy wind that just added to my brush pile. This has been going on for a month or so but today was calm, dry and only 70°. Perfect bonfire weather and I now smell like a brisket that just came out of the smoker. Got it done and now have a pile of coals and ash about the size of a picnic table. As the coals burn down over night and turn to ash the pile will shrink down a lot and in a few days I'll till it in because I burned everything on the garden. So unlike you, I am glad no rain today. We just got .88" of rain. At one point it was coming down at the rate of 1.6" per hour. We have a weather station that keeps us informed of what's going on outside. Very interesting to watch. W even have a lightning detector. We are well over 3800 lightning strikes within 20 miles of our house.

We just got done with an unusually hot dry month. I'm ready for winter now.

    Joe

PS. It just started to rain again.

Some parts of Utah have had devastating flash floods - during an Exceptional drought. Our part is still Exceptional. Yesterday, a cloud moved by and dropped a whopping .01" - and we're grateful. No more forecast for the next week.

    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

Rainy today. I feel bad for the folks (especially campers) here for the NHRA Nationals.

It's too late for me, save yourself.

Record drought here in the PNW. Longest stretch that I can remember w/o rain was about 50 days, probably pushing 90 days now.

I dumped 4 3/4 inches of rain Friday morning and 2 5/8 inches this morning. My pond is full and the draught is broken.

Gonna be a high of about 89 with a 35% chance of thunderstorms, we could use the rain, but I'm supposed to mow the grass at our house in town so who knows...

    Glad you got some rain.

We had record rain in July, to the point that crops got stunted. I was listening to one farmer on TV and he stated that he had to use 25-30% more fertilizer to keep crops growing this year.
