Special needs dog
My wife is part of a rescue network called Hospice Hearts that helps find homes for pets that survive their owners. For several months we’ve had a special needs dog with a birth defect. One of the connections from her kidney(s) to her bladder goes right out the urethra instead. The deceased owner did not understand the problem and apparently severely punished the poor thing trying to potty train her.
Diapering her is not working out. It could likely be fixed by surgery [$3,500 to $5,000]. My wife is worried that no matter what someone adopting her says, the dog would end up an outside dog (I don’t think that’s always a bad thing but she sure does).
I would like to try to find her a home with a fenced yard and a 24/7 doggie door, I’m sure she could be trained to go out when she needed to.
Another possibility would be a group home type setting where several people could keep an eye on her to make sure she kept her diaper on and bathing her as often as needed. [Do firemen keep dogs anymore?]
Suggestions for other solutions welcome. If anyone here is interested in adopting (and can pass my wife’s 3rd degree) I’d meet within a 4 hour radius of Indianapolis.

If the surgery would work, start a go fund me page. I'm sure that the expenses would get covered. Sweet looking little girl, I'd toss in a few bucks to help out.
Watch this "Sunday Morning Primetime" for the "We Rate Dogs" twitter thing. This guy might list your dog & raise the money for you.

I'll play the villian here: It's too bad some folks never learned the cold, hard facts of life.
I understand your point, but you can't always judge a book by its cover...
