Hello everyone, and my interest ingus began in 1960, and the New York City Gun stores were selling k98 Mauser for $25. To $35…. Will the prices ever drop . Peter

That's roughly $225 to $325 in todays dollars. A price drop? Not likely, because there aren't any caches left to discover.
That was not the case in the 1990's when massive numbers of surplus Mausers were imported from what was then the newly opened Iron Curtain. Those rifles, many like new, were amazing bargains.

capt obvious here .. if you stumble on a great deal buy it don't put it off . like so many more even on here I can remember so many surplus rifles and ammo dirt cheap . as for me I thought they will always be cheap and always be at GS . my crystal ball was sure foggy and hind sight is always best
@mark christian Yes, in the 90's Sarco was 30 min away & Navy Arms was 45. We could spend an afternoon looking thru the racks. If you didn't see what you wanted, they brought out a selection.
I'm waiting for land prices to drop back down to what they were sixty years ago as well.
I would be satisfied if GAS prices would drop to pre Biden levels!
i KNOW gas will never be what i paid when going to college 19cents/gal. and oh that British 303 i bought from Monkey Wards catalogue with my grass cutting money- all of $14 will never be again. [only because i don't cut grass]
Was that back in the Model T days?
I'm not holding my breath.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
That makes me jealous.........mine in .308 is not quite that nice.

I can't get past the fact that there were gun stores, in New York CITY!
There used to be gun stores everywhere!!
When I was a kid about every store had ammo for sale and most had guns.
