Windows and Linux
Windows 11 debuts October 5th. But they've configured it so that almost half of the computers now in use cannot load or run it. You can stick with Windows 10 for a couple more years, but when support for that ends, you'll be SOL unless you buy a whole new machine.
Or...you can kick Microsoft to the curb and switch to Linux. There's a website where you can test-drive almost any Linux operating system for 30 minutes right in your browser. You don't have to install or change anything on your current system. the website is https://distrotest.net/index.php
Systems run in a popup window, so you may have to disable your blocker temporarily. The version you choose may run slowly but it will be functional except for internet access. Peruse the installed applications, get a feel for the desktop layout (which you can customize) and discover the wonderful world of Linux. No charge, no risk, and no IT skills needed.
I suggest you try out Linux Mint, Zorin, Feren, and (if you have a really old machine) Linux Lite.
