Pictures don't load>>> Please review the following problem(s): We cannot find item [912595849] in our system.
looks like some one had some kind of big target scope on it
That looks blocked up for one of those Redfield's or an Unertyl.
Hard to find a used one with a decent throat just after the chamber.
I have a couple that are just fine, thinking about listing one of them.🤐
+10...

I bought a rifle like that some years ago. I bought it because it had a 24 inch barrel. Most 220 Swift rifles have a 26 inch barrel. I do not like 26 inch barrels.
Must be the standard barrel as the varmit ones are all "26" "heavy barrels.
Needs the extra length to reach Swift speeds.
26 inch barrels are a bit awkward but i have a Remington STW, it carries 26 inch barrel and a 40xb, 6 x 284 custom with 28 inch barrel.
They move pretty fast though.
My brother had one when he lived in Texas Panhandle and there were several Prairie Dog towns that needed population control.
Worked up some fairly hot handloads which he called his "PD disintegration rounds". Normal shots were +/- 400 yards.
He also had some "Jack Rabbit disintegration rounds" using .357 pistol bullets in a 336 chambered for .35 Remington.
may years ago late 1970" I think it was I thought I really needed ( wanted one ) I bought a brand new just came out ruger 220 swift same day I bought a few boxes of ammo a set of dies and reloading supply's , sad part I never fired the first round thru it it just sat in the safe . something else came along and money being what it was ( lack of ) I sold it still new in the box I sure I lost about 100.00 + just on the rifle .
wish I had of just fired it a few times 🤨
I bought one of those in 1973 when they first came out ( the Swift was supposed to be a limited run). It has the early bolt handle that's now called the "flat bolt". I put a Lyman 20X LWBR (light weight bench rest) scope on it. It is still one of tightest grouping rifles I own. Of course, one of my other rifles that shoots as good or better is a cheapo (at the time) Remington 788 in .22/.250 with a cheapo (again, at the time) Weaver K6.
Nice guns but I could never get a 220 swift to shoot better than a 22-250. I gave up on them a few years ago. YMMV.
Ruger actions and lock times area bit of handicap when compared to a 40-XB or the likes. I sometimes shoot my swift that started out as a 40-XB, custom gun smithed, in 222 Remington. Shot out on a few PD shoots. No problem, run a Swift reamer down the chamber and with 52 gr. Serrias, it will shoot ragged 5 shot holes most any time at 100 yards and further.
