My Bullrider Grandson solo hunt buck this morning .
Taken with a Bergara rifle in 6.5 CM, Hornady 143gr ELD-X
This was the first buck he has taken without me being along side.
Growing up, but we will share more hunts in the future, yes I am proud.

That's a dandy! Bob
Grampa didn't need to show him everything... But it Helps
Nice buck and a good shot on it.
I’m proud, this was his first buck that we weren’t hunting together. However he quickly found out the reason that Grandpa always has a wad of para cord in his pack or saddle bag.
He had to drag quite a ways to a place they could get the pickup to, whereas in the past we just went back to the mules and rode to the kill site and loaded them up.

Nice
That's a beaut!
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Memories !!!! Nice buck.
good shootin
Just what is a Monster Buck?
That is a monster for any one's first deer.
Not his first nor biggest, just his first on a hunt on his own and at his own camp, unsupported by all Grandpas equipment and mules.
He will join me starting Friday elk hunting though.

Well done young man!
Nice deer. Congrats.
Congrats to him! The 6.5 CM with 143gr ELDX is my new favorite cartridge. I have 6 one shot DRT kills with it. (I hate blood trailing)
What a lucky kid to have you and others to help him get started. Good for him that he is doing it on is own and looks like he will keep things going. I know young men that will go hunting if you have it all lined out for them but won't go on their own. It takes work to hunt, some won't work looks like he will.
Thank you.
He took to it from a young age. I started taking him to the mountains alongside me astride a mule or a horse , the summer he turned 5.
So he’s seen some country and fished and hunted places that a lot of adults never will.
He has turned out to be far better fisherman than I, and goes alone into back country lakes that we visited since he was small.
he’s still learning and fine tuning his woods craft and mule packing skills, but I’m proud of him.

And this is what he’s turned into, look at the chunk of fat by the knives, that young buck had some tallow on him
Nice!
It's good to see youngsters butchering their own.
Seems it's a lost art.
Congratulations on such a fine young gentleman!
