Last night I discovered that kimi (James McBroom) passed away on September 2, 2021. He was a special friend on and off the forums even though we were only able to meet in person one time when he and his wife Barb visited us here at our home. This was very sad and unexpected news!
I know James’ wife Barb and son Joel would appreciate your prayers.
Here is a link to his obituary.

I didn't know Kimi except on the forums.. He was good member of these forums. Insightful, intelligent, and non argumentative. The forum is less without him.
Prayers sent
Sad news. I loved his contributions to this forum and had planned to meet up with him at some point when I lived over on the wet side, but never got my act together to do it. My prayers are with his family. Like @SCOUT5 says above: insightful, intelligent, and non-argumentative. I will miss his participation here very much. We are losing some good folks lately.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Yes, he was a positive asset here. He'll be missed.
Sad news. Prayers sent. James will be missed.
Prayers for the family
Devastating news. Kimi's contributions to our forum are too numerous to list. He will be missed.
We met Jim & Barb out at the Cody Winchester show 1 year, truely great people. we are diminished.
he told us about his 'handle' here.....when he met Barb in Korea she couldn't pronounce the 'J' in Jimmy.......so it became 'Kimi'
Well, darn. A true Southern gentleman here on the forum.
Condolences to his family and friends.
Will miss Kimi's post. Especially enjoyed his many historical post about the Civil War.-----Ray
So sad to hear this news. I was just thinking about him yesterday, and wondered how he was doing. As others have mentioned he was an asset to GB forums, RIP Kimi, prayers for Kimi and his wife/family.
Sad news indeed. I was wondering why he wasn't posting with college football in full swing.

Very sad news indeed. Kimi shared much with us here his vast knowledge of US history and helped me get started setting up my family tree. I miss him already but know he is in a better place.

Such sad news....I am so sorry to hear this.
On behalf of the GB Forum, I took the liberty of making a donation to the Marine Corps Relief Society in the name Master Sergeant (Retired) James Wade McBroom. RIP, Kimi.
Sad to hear, always enjoyed his input. RIP
I'm receiving offers from forum members to reimburse me for the donation. That's very kind, but I'd much prefer that those who can do so make a donation of their own in any amount to https://www.nmcrs.org/
My condolences.
May he R.I.P.
