my 07 silverado air bag module is defective. it has the fuzzies. this is caused by being under the carpet, under the drivers seat. here in the deep damp south with our very high humidity and any rain that might get inside its not unusual for your carpet to get wet. nice truck, low mileage, occasional use. module is about $500.00 and up to $100.00 to program to my vehicles VIN. im thinking, how bad do i really need this?

I say just fix the one you have.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
"Back in the day" we didn't need air bags. Of course, the bumpers were made of steel.
Check for recall, Got one just a few days ago on my 2009.
as far as i can find out non repairable. also it is my fault that rain gets inside every now and then. in my defense, you can have a cloudless day, walk inside the house for a drink, come back outside and it will be poring the rain. still my fault.
If you don't know what you are doing I strongly suggest you don't work on air bags. They are capable of killing.
rule one: disconnect the battery for at least five minutes.
rule two: be very, very careful
most have a little steel ball inside stuck to a magnet, if you jar the ball off the magnet DUCK
Just cover the air bag light on the dash with a piece of tape.
Why is there an air bag under your seat? Eject module?
Cover the light with tape.
