Fox is reporting that the gun used to kill Halyna Hutchins had recently been fired by crew members with live ammo. This doesn't surprise me as it is a real gun. What does surprise me is that live ammo was on a movie set. That is taboo. I once attended a dealer show at Ellett Brothers in S.C. where a women was shot accidently by the rep from Kahr Arms. I found out later the guy had used the 9MM as a carry gun the night before. I have handled thousands of guns at hundreds of shows and unless the action was secured by a lock of some kind I checked the chamber of every one of them. And I still did not point any of them at anyone. Just ask anyone who ever worked for me in a gun shop how insistent I was that they check a gun when it came out of the case, and if they had allowed a customer to handle it, before it was returned. You can not get that bullet back, and saying sorry means nothing. Of course we all know that.

Local gun show always has a big jar of bullets at the table removed from "Un loaded" guns.
I saw an accidental discharge at a gun show once.........fun times. The dealer was asked to pack up and leave.
A friend brought me an "unloaded" inline muzzle loader that wouldn't fire. First thing was to drop the ram rod down the barrel. YUP, it was loaded.
While recording serial #s at the range, an officer was waving a Sig around to get light on it. WHOA & I took it from him. But it's unloaded. I popped the mag which was full. But the chamber is empty. I racked the slide & yes, a round fell out. Get out of here & Go Home!
Every PD has a bullet hole somewhere, hopefully not in somebody.
Hard to believe that crew members in liberalwood fired live ammo, or knew how to. Just another excuse so Baldwin will not be blamed. Clear case of accidental manslaughter, but as a celebrity he will walk.
The way I see it ..if you are going to shoot a firearm you should know how that firearm operates. Never hand someone a revolver unless the cylinder is open or in a case of a single action you have checked the cylinders for ammo. An automatic is simple, remove the magazine and lock the slide back.
Twice over the years I was a gun show and a gun went off . (and no not me 😲 )
One was 22 rifle fired into to trusses all guns are confirmed at the door. the gun that fired was a marlin tube feed 22 I was not far away from that one . I have always thought the door checker pulled the bolt back nothing in the chamber ( or the fellow walking in as common just held the gun so they could see it was empty released the bold and picked up a round that was in the tube lucky it went into the roof , over the PA they said the guy had to load it after he came in I call BS I think it was loaded the entire time just the chamber was clear as he walked by at a fast pace , but who knows
second time I was just leaving a fellow fired a pistol into the floor interested in buying from another walk in but the concrete or fragments hit a girl in the leg . my buddy was still in the place said the girls BF was about to beat the crap out of the fellow holding the gun but all were swiftly hustled out not sure what it was maybe a 22 also I do not remember for sure
when my youngest son and I were there ( he was about 12 or 13 at that time ) for the first one going off It became instant quiet you could have a pin drop seconds after the bang . some even dived under tables .
both were many years ago when the Gun show was a huge event took up several + rooms at the arena last time I went they struggled to fill a small section ( that arena was closed down many years ago and torn down several years back the GS moved of course
