Good for you, old timer.
Seriously, I still have a ways to go before I see the first check.
Congrats are in order. You've earned it.
Joe, good for you. I packed it in at 63. I am 78 now. Hope you have many good years. You paid into it and deserve a good long rest.----------------------Ray
Good on ya. If you planned correctly and followed through diligently, your SS check will become your "walking around" money every month.
If anyone thinks they can live on just their SS, well...cat food is cheap.
Yeah, I'll be 63 in December, eligible now. To start collecting March 1.
Gotta say, applied using the on-line process, don't think they coulda made it easier. Very impressed.
I'll still be working doing the part time gig(s) , but it's going to be good.
congrats
welcome to the club
Congratulations. Now you’ll get daily mail about Medicare plans.
21 years of collecting for me.
Going on 4 years that I have been collecting mine. Like you I signed up online and it was super easy. Of course they have to make it simple for us old folks. 😁
Congrats on collecting your share. Bob
Congrats, Working when you want is great.
Getting paid so much as an admin here, that you can retire.
Congrats.
😁
Remember that you can only earn so much and they will start to penalize you. I think the max is about $14,000 per year or thereabouts.
Good luck. My wife applied in June. Still have not gotten a payment. She called the national office to ask what was going on.
They referred her to local office who is still not doing in person meeting. Supervisor in local office said they would look into it and call her back.
She never got a call back. She has to call every day and gets the same I will call you back.
It is a real cluster f**k right now.
i did mine completely on line not a problem, but that was way before COVID started.
Good for you and welcome to the club!
Yeah...with my four star pay and my SS check I am in good shape!!! 😁

Joe aside from SS: Getting old sucks.
Believe it or not that's when you call your congresspersons office for action, their aides will go to work pronto on matters like this, Good Luck.

Have fun with your entitlement, Joe.

This after you just got promoted to Admin? Welp.

Congrats Joe enjoy it.
I slightly disagree RR, retiring with zero debt, allows the wife and I to live great on SS alone without touching our reserves.
Waited until I was 65, couldn't afford the high health ins at 62, 2500.00 a month.
Applied on line, easy as pie.
Best part is the little red, white, and blue card along with a small supplement ins, no doctor or hospital bills at all and boy have I had some biggies.
Yes I could make it by with just my SS income. Still full employed and making more $$ than ever with no penalty.
By the way I have been self employed all my working years.
God is Great.
Congratulations and welcome to the 24/7 vacation club!
If you can't feel the music; it's only pink noise!
