Liked my time overseas when we did not have to put up with DST.

No. My grandparents had a dairy herd. They never subscribed to such foolishness.
But all the puters automatically reset to it.
So will 2430 hrs be AM or PM ???
DST is stupid. Apparently, politicians are not smart enough to know that summer automatically gives us more daylight hours.
I'm looking forward to setting our clocks back.
