Saw this while filling up. Thought of you and just had to share.

1956 model with swing out rear gate. Guy was quite proud of it, like you!

What a beauty!! And a capstan winch to boot. That’s a gorgeous nice straight Series1. He’s really got something there.

when I was 16 and working at a local grocery store about once a month I would see one in the parking lot never paid much attention to it other that it stood out . at that time all I liked were fast cars ( well girls of course )

Taking more time to really look it over, he's gone down the same path as me. New steering, new springs, FWH on the front (identical hubs to me), new exhaust, nice straight sheet metal at the expense of the paint job. I see he has bonnet latches to hold it down ... no amount of crosswind is going to open it with that spare sat up there! She sits perky on her springs. Unfortunately he's lost his bulkhead, rotted out so that's doubtless giving him untold heartburn. And curse the hammerhead that cut out the corners on the breakfast! But yeah he has a nice daily driver there.

Wow! You spotted all of that! I should’ve taken more pictures but I was in a hurry to get back on the road. He was busy talking to another admirer who was asking questions and talking pictures. I just couldn’t leave without snapping a few no sharing with you.

I share your passion with old classics as I have a 1968 Bronco that I have had for 51 years…

There was a guy some years ago that had one that was totally polished, those aluminum bodies look great polished

Ahhhhhh, common misunderstanding, that's not aluminium (said with British accent). It's called Birmabright, it's an alloy of magnesium and aluminium, so it won't corrode, but it WILL burn.

    Yikes

That there is a sweet rig.

Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

Well get that truck out and drive it!

I have my '63 and another '96 with the wool carpet and leather, both fantastic trucks. Now I'm looking at a 2013 Range Rover Sport Supercharged. It's got 510hp and 461 ft/lb of torque. My GAWD that sounds like a lot of fun! I doubt I'll take it offroading but I have other beasties for that.
