Social Security Benefit ???

BrookwoodBrookwood Member, Moderator Posts: 13,770 ******

A while back, I asked a question about special SS benefits for being an honorable veteran. I was told by a number of members here that there were none. I came upon this letter a long while ago but just recently rediscoverd it. Any TRUTH to this or is it just another scam??

From 1957 through 1967, we will add the

extra credits to your record when you apply for

    Social Security benefits.

    • From 1968 through 2001, you don’t need to

do anything to receive these extra credits. The

credits were automatically added to your record.

    • After 2001, there are no special extra earnings

    credits for military service.

NOTE: In all cases, we add the additional credit for military service to the earnings that we average over your working lifetime, not directly to your monthly benefit payment amount.

I only made $400 to $500 a month. So, this probably works out to another $5 a month? Wendy's 3 for 5 menu?
