In 2009, the military base at Fort Hood installed Frazetta’s “Death Dealer I” statue, which they renamed “Phantom Warrior.” When the III Corps adopted the character they decided to utilize the more politically correct “Phantom Warrior,” perhaps not wishing to glorify “death.” The statue, based on the sculpt by Randy Bowen, sits outside the headquarters building. The final product is an 18-hand tall (about 6 feet) Shire draft horse, mounted by a menacing, armor clad, 6-foot 6-inch warrior, in a horned helmet; and weighs in at 4,600 pounds.
I've always enjoyed Frazetta's artwork. Until today, I had no idea that a bronze statue, a copy of his "Death Dealer I," is on display at a U.S. Army base. Too cool!

That guy could be a GB forums moderator.
Some DEMOCRAT will declare it as racist and it will be taken down.
According to my DNA I have a small fraction of Norse in my ancestry. That statue is cultural appropriation and I demand it be taken down. I bet the Budweiser horses will have something to say about it too because it looks like a Clydesdale. Bob
My first exposure to Frazetta's artwork was a Molly Hatchet album cover.
Fascinatingly bizarre stuff.
Alexander the Great's war horse was a large horse I assume was a draft animal or draft cross.
How did you run across this now, Nunn? Pretty cool.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Hyggelig å se deg, min Norske bror!
You can say that again - unlike me who couldn't pronounce it the first time.😁
Y'all have a nice day too bro. Bob
It showed up on Facebook, and I copied it.
