So do we have the right to die on our own terms? I have mixed emotions on this. And your thoughts . . . .?

Is he still alive ?
me too
Years ago I thought DR. K was an evil beast. After sitting in a hospital for 36 hours watching my mom, that had dementia, gasp for every breath until her last, I changed my mind.

yep
A good stash of painkillers are in my plans, I've witnessed too many suffering for long periods of times with no future but more suffering to go through. Something violent or messy......nope, I'm not going out like that.

if you choose to leave on your on terms like some people do and have done legal in some states what I hear . in place of facing a long dragged out panful slow death then its your choice . I am sure insurance company's will add in or have now a clause no pay outs if you choose that method I may be wrong but long term hospital and care has to cost them millions so it may be a better option for them also .
I have lost way too many family and friends to cancer and dementia sad to see and I am sure most on here have been thru it also . I have hinted to my wife if I get into a situation no way to survive . I will take the easy way out .
I had several friends starting way back in high school and some family choose to end it over a girlfriend or boy friend or just a rough time there having in life and can not face it . its there live but seems such a waste
I have thought about in the past too many easy ways to just go to sleep and not wake up my brother , dad and one uncle ( maybe the rest but those I know for sure had enough drugs supplied by hospice sitting next to there beds to put down a dozen people easy pain free . I know I am not the one right now facing it . would another few hours or days be worth the pain or even being in coma . I have wondered maybe why so many were provided to them as a option if they chose ( it may be different now )
long post just to say " it should be every ones right to choose " and have places set up to help like in soilent green your favorite colors movies music and so on and just drift away ( yes except not making food out of them )
