Got a new Port in South Carolina!
When the Doc said they were putting in a Port I figured with that I would be prepared to help resolve the Supply Chain crisis! Lol
Not quite what I expected, I thought it would just be a tee connection into the vein but they run a foot or so of tubing right into the vein to get to some larger one. Doc says I will like it since they can draw blood for testing pre Chemo, and add the pre meds and drugs right in without any more IV's or stick attempts. I had to get interventional radiology to do all my draws and sticks before due to tiny veins that run when they try to stick em.
Start the first of my new Cocktails on Friday hopefully tolerate them well. This process runs through January so no more trips for me until early Spring. Prayers appreciated.

Hang in there, glad you still got a sense of humor about it.
If you think the port is bad, wait until you get the starboard!
(But seriously, I wish you well.)
Good luck.

good luck hope all turns out well for you, I had one of those in my neck for my bypass. It was one of the last things they took out before letting me go home, It looked like they pulled a drinking straw out of my neck, as the nurse held it up for me to see after she yanked it out........hang in there, you have lots more waterfalls to visit
Prayers for complete success with your chemo and good health sent from here mogley.
Stay strong
While having it's own set of protocols and precautions adds things having the port will save more than it adds. You will be glad you got it. I've accessed hundreds of these. Most are simple and work well, occasionally there are issues, the odds are greatly in your favor on that.
I'm sorry you need one, hoping you get maximum benefit from it though.
Prayers for your journey.
