OK...Who has bought and used a sound-amplified hard-wired telephone? I need one wall phone and one desk phone, with adjustable sound volume on the receiver.
I see a lot of them for sale. Too many. Who has used one? Who can recommend a specific brand and model? Or who can recommend one to stay away from?
My mother needs them. Thanks!

We tried a few different ones & they all sucked. See if you can get phones with speaker phone so she can listen with both ears. Does she have hearing aids? The other option is bluetooth with hearing aids. Get the rechargeable hearing aids as the bluetooth eats up batteries.
get one that spells out on a screen i see the ads on tv for hard of hear folks
My mother uses the clarity alto phone. Her's is a desk type with the volume control on the base.
Uncle Sam provided a caption phone for me under the Americans With Disabilities Act. Brand name is CaptionCall. Works well, plenty of volume if you use the speaker function or the handset may be used. Desk top, land line connected. Captions may be archived.
I had their equipment approximately 8 years ago. As I recall filled out minimum of paperwork and did not cost anything. Very well made. I kept the unit about six months but could not get use to lag between audio and text. I asked them to come pick it up and let someone else have it. Although the lag drove me crazy I would give it a try Nunn.-------Ray
