Let's give Thanks
Thanksgiving day is nearly upon us, with all the related busy-ness and activity, people coming and going, finding just the right can of cranberries, turkeys starting to thaw, us guys getting out the BIG belt so we have lots of room to expand.
In the middle of all the hectic, let's just stop for a minute. Take a breath and contemplate. What are YOU thankful for?
Me? I've put a roof over our heads. What brings a tear of gratitude to my eye is my people.
My boy risks his life every day to help others as a fireman, and he's got a sweetie and it's looking good.
My daughter FINALLY met a good man and married him, and she's turning into exactly what I'd hoped for.
My new son in law is the finest young man I think I've ever met. I couldn't possibly hope for more.
My wife is incredibly patient and wakes up every morning with a song in her heart. It's absolutely unfathomable how she does that. I think it's what I love most about her.
Above all else, I know the Lord and he knows me. I finally figured out it's not about just going to church, it's about knowing him. His personality, his voice, his little ways, his sense of humor, how he'll do something incredible and not mention it, hoping I'll notice ... and then the joy when I realize what he's done.
There is SO MUCH to be thankful for, it seems like Thanksgiving should last a lot longer than a day. Sooo what is it that YOU are thankful for?

Let every day be a day of thanksgiving. It is unfathomable what "the Source of all goodness and love" goes through watching us in action.
I am most thankful for all of the good people in my life, past and present.
Thankful that God sees fit to allow me to wake up each morning. Things are not always easy,( arthritis ) but each day is a blessing.
Much to be thankful for, but often we are so busy acting spoiled that we do not see it. Reality checks are a blessing sometimes.
