I need to see the left side of the receiver behind the front sight.
Left side behind the REAR sight.
I'm guessing no tiny importer's marks any where. Edges look worn round. Maybe a GI bring-back.
Almost certain it is Chinese.

Could be but I have found an import mark under the handguard when I bought one that I "thought" maybe was a bring back. Must have been before they had to be prevalent. Looked about same condition also. It is Chinese because I have never seen a Russian with the sling swivel side mount but which arsenal is the heads or tails.
IIRC, about 5-6 years ago AIM Surplus sold a small batch of Chicom SKS's that they were able to convince ATF were actually issued by Chinese or NVA troops. They were then able to sell them as C & R's, since most Chicom SKS's in the US were made for export.
Yes, it could be a legal import, or not, but it doesn't matter. Unless you have paperwork, it would be best NOT to sell as a C&R.
