How Y'All been?

Well... (that's a deep subject)

To say the least... It's been a while since I've posted on the forum.

And a lot and not so much has taken place.

I think the last time I posted was sometime in May-2020... This new forum format has me a bit corn-fuzed and I'm not sure exactly when.

Lost my Mom in mid March of 2020. The most memorable thing I remember of her that's associated with the forum is when she met Forgemonkey over dinner when we met up in Colorado. Boy was she smitten with him! I had to remind her that he was much younger than she was... She kept reminding me that my Dad was much older than she was when the they first met. Couldn't argue with the that... 🤔🙄

Covid sent most all of my company home the week after Mom passed away, so I never returned to the office. Started working remote and never missed a beat. Found I was much more productive here at home without all of the daily interruptions.

Fast forward to early 2021, finally figured out I was working at least two hours more per day since I wasn't commuting anymore. That turned into half days (12 out of 24 hours)... And eventually crept into the weekends... Made a decision to start cutting my computer OFF at 6pm M thru Th and 4pm on Fridays... That works most of the time. But they still had my cell number... 😖

So... I ended up resurrecting an old cell phone and getting another cell number thru Mint Mobil (real cheap!). Announced I got a new phone and refused to answer ANY incoming calls on my "personal" cell phone that were work related. That's worked well, 'cause I can turn that phone off and the calls go to voicemail.

But even then... There are still a few that know I still have my personal phone and occasionally get past the security protocols I've put in to place.

Working here is like being Jacob Marley on "A CHRISTmas Carol"... in death, Jacob Marley still drags all those links of chain... Every project I have is just another link of chain that I have to drag around.

Looks like the only way for me to escape is to just retire.

Which ain't gonna be too much longer. Just gotta wait to Ozma turns 65 and qualifies for Medicare.

How y'all been??? Good I hope.

I saw that you had made a couple of posts today and was going to ask where the heck you've been but I guess you pretty much covered that. I just checked and yes I think it was May 2020 when you last posted. Boy oh boy have you missed out on a ton of super duper extremely important stuff! I can't think of an example off the top of my head but there must be something or other that you missed. Quit working so hard and join us more often. Bob

    Robert, how ya been ??

Yes, I remember your mom, Ozma and your SD. And your mom was quite gracious in putting up with all the good natured banter over dinner. My condolences for your loss

How is the young Rx daughter doing ??

Does Ozma realize you got the best end of the relationship ?? 🤣

The Rx daughter unit is doing well... but unfortunately works more than me. She and her hubby now have three chaps. Two boys and a sweet little girl. Ozma spends about half her week watching over that brood so both the daughter and hubby can make ends meet.

I think Ozma believes she got the best end of the deal... but we ALL know better. She works if she's not sleeping. Still working online teaching college Engrish... (I realize that's mis-spelled but more true to the caliber of students she's teaching). My hopes is that she hangs it up soon. Not sure home much more I can take of her schedule. 😣

My eldest son John (he's the one that has C.F.) started a new medicine back in late 2019 and has actually gained considerable endurance and respiratory function. He's still living with us. He graduated with a Masters in Electrical Engineering Dec'2020 due to not being able to be on the campus and pursue his PhD very well. He has hopes of returning to complete his PhD if Covid ever loses it's grip.

My middle boy is doing well also. Back in to owning his own business again doing graphic design. He's got a few commercial accounts so far and his wife is working with him when she's not home schooling their three. Their company is called "Beard and Blonde Design, LLC"... If anyone cares to check out what they do, https://www.beardandblonde.design/ .
