On the plus side, we won't be inundated with Medicare insurance ads after today.
Was wondering who would bring up Pearle Harbor day... I don't get the Medicare reference Rocky? maybe because I'm still a couple years away from getting it...
Was born in Norfolk General Hospital with black out shades drawn because of U-boats on the prowl. God bless all those that were at Pearl and God Bless the USA that is still trying to survive.------------------------Ray
Brought to you by POLITICIANS.
I was referring to the bombardment of ads on TV for the last several months, all offering different Medicare insurance options. The deadline to enroll in them is today.
never knew infamy was 80 years, most of the younger folks today probubly don't know/care what today is and meant to this country, sad, really sad..............
Sadly Rocky, those adds don't stop on the 7th. They continue on like the insurance business has a bottomless pit full of advertising money! 😣
Back on track though, I always take a moment or two of silence in remembrance of Peal Harbor. It was also my FIL's birthday. If he were alive today he'd be 92.
True!! That being said, my old neighbor welded on the Nevada after she was towed to Seattle following the attack.
As I state every year, my brother was there and survived the Pacific Theater. He never got over it but lived a full life and despised Japanese until he passed in the early 90's.
...God bless and keep all those men who gave everything at Pearl Harbor on that day...one of my uncles was stationed on the Arizona, as fate would have it, he was on the docks when it all started...he lived to fight on in some of the biggest battles in the Pacific campaign...may he now rest in peace, he earned it...
Yep, and its intentional. Rampant destruction of our culture and heritage fostered by main stream media, academia, and their DEMOCRAT party.
I was being frivolous above, but I'll atone by observing the every American should go to the Arizona Memorial at least once. It is truly a solemn and dignified place. I've been twice, more than 40 years apart. The museum and Visitors Center there now is awesome in the true sense of that word. You can also tour the Missouri, which is docked quite nearby.
One thing that will amaze you is that there are as many Japanese tourists visiting the Memorial as Americans, and they are without exception as affected by the dignity of the place as anyone. Everyone is deeply respectful and mindful of the sacrifices made there.
On a grey August day...
