Missouri Deer Hunter Shoots a 170-Class Buck on a Small 40-Acre Farm
A 13-pointer showed up on camera the day before firearms season this fall. Duckworth had seen the deer on camera before the season opened, but was hunting elsewhere on opening day. His wife Kathy hunted the big buck for most of the week, but never saw him. She did shoot a nice doe on Saturday evening.
“It was coming toward me at a fast trot and I only had a 10-foot window to shoot him in,” says Duckworth. “I threw up my rifle and could see that it was the buck we'd been after.”
He immediately dropped the crosshairs down to the buck's front shoulder and squeezed off a round from his 6.5 Creedmoor. It didn't take long to find his trophy as the buck only ran about 55 yards before it expired.
Duckworth's 13-pointer features 4 4/8 inches of mass from its bases to between the second and third points. It's longest tine is an 11-inch G3. The buck green scored 173 5/8 inches (typical).

I'll bet he's delighted! We never see the big bucks that appear on the camera anytime or anyplace except on the camera. I think those pictures are on the cameras hard drive when you buy the camera, like the picture of the pretty girl that's in the new wallet (green font).
Whitetail of a lifetime.

Totally in awe. Although I'm stumped as to why it matters the farm was 40 acres. If it butts up to a multitude of farms the deer don't care about the paper boundaries. Much like my place. On paper I have 35 acres. Brother has 35 acres. All around us are other wooded farms from 30 to 100's of acres. No one told the deer.
Exactly @susie I'm on 20, and on this side of the road about 3/4 mile long all parcels are between 5-30 acres other side of road one big place of hundreds of acres, the deer crossover all the time.... the 40 acres in story means nothing.
I think that the real trophy is that ear to ear smile on that beautiful young lady standing next to him!
All it takes is one acre if its in the right place.
Very nice
Only ran 55 yds? Shoulder shot? That tells me something about the 6.5 CM.
I thought a 6.5Cm would drop them DRT?
Do a google search for moose like deer killed in Burnsville NC.

Wonder what it might score?
Lifetime memory made right there!
Totally annihilated the heart of a doe one year with my .06. She ran about 50 yards into the woods before dropping. One small trickle of blood at entry. Got her strung up in the barn to find just about every drop of blood in her body cavity. Deer can do crazy things.
40 acres is plenty if you put out lots of corn.
If there's anything in that feeder, the guy may be in a lot of trouble. Regulations about 'baiting' statewide and restrictions on how long the bait must be removed prior to hunting.
My area is in a CWD containment zone so we can't even use mineral blocks(unless the primary intent is for livestock use).
