Serious stuff there.
Here's another with some stats.
Whoa
God Bless. The news coverage is showing debris & vehicles piled up high.
The damage in Mayfield, Ky. looked like a nuclear bomb went off. Sad.--------------------Ray
Wow, that's just horrible. Prayers for all in the path of that thing.
Have served as a volunteer fireman for 37 years. . In the early 80s we had a swarm tornado system come thru
Was comparable to this one . Stayed on the ground for many miles . 44 died . I spent almost a week on search and recovery operations . It is unbelievable what the wind can do .Prayers for all involved
Grew up in Texas Panhandle and heard stories of how house I grew up in dodged a couple of twisters, but I've been closer to more here in Central Kentucky than I was back home.
Here's the Fujita Scale based on damage:
SCALE WIND (MPH) DAMAGE
F0 < 73 Light damage
F1 73-112 Moderate damage.
F2 113-157 Considerable damage
F3 158-206 Severe damage
F4 207-260 Devastating damage
F5 261-318 Incredible damage
There used to be an “F6 – Inconceivable damage” rating but they decided that there was no way to rate damage above what an F5 creates so it was dropped.
OMG, that is scary. I have never seen one, nor do I ever want to.
