New Year's Day in Wyoming
Actually this pic trip will begin yesterday evening. We enjoyed the torchlight ski show at dark. From there we had dinner reservations at The Silver Dollar. On our walk back to the hotel we came across a young lady who was sitting on a bench and too inebriated to find her way back to her hotel. Outside temp was about 7. We got her safely back to her hotel.
We had a late breakfast, watched a bit of the Rose Parade and then watched the first hour and half of of today's bowl game. Woo Pig Sooie. Then we were off to take a sleigh ride through the 25,000 acre elk refuge.
The Percherons that pulled our sleigh were magnificent. Their names were Rage and Cajun. 😆
A selfie in my balaclava.
Skies were clear and we could see forever. A few wispy clouds drifted by the Tetons.
A few cows meandering around.
We had a late afternoon lunch at Stillwater with a view of the ski slopes. It was entertaining watching the little people learn to ski and the old pros zoom down the slopes. We plan to take a gondola ride to the top sometime tomorrow.
The sunset reflecting off the distant mountains was beautiful.
Stopped at a small convenience store for in room libations as we watch this evenings bowl games. Was able to get a late evening pic of Jackson with the ski slopes in the background.

Once again, wonderful pictures, and thanks for sharing. Looks like you're having fun.
Damn, that looks great. Been a long time since I was in Tahoe or Truckee when there was snow. Have fun!!
Very nice
I’m glad the mountain gods looked on you with favor and gave a break in the weather so that you might get a good view of the Peaks and the visible valley.

Now you got me excited about ski season!!!!! We had just enough snow to get the snowmobiles out at our mountain home in upstate PA. Already melted though. Winter is coming though. 4 to 6 inches tomorrow and snow forecasted for three days this week. Love winter
Great photos. That young lady was lucky that you stumbled across her and got her safely back to her hotel.
There are few sights more jaw-dropping than Golden Hour when the setting sun turns mountains into ramparts of fiery brilliance. I'm delighted you managed to get a day clear enough to witness that glorious transformation.
