Yesterday: 68 degrees; yard work in shorts and a t-shirt.
Today: This….
Trees going down everywhere. Roads to town blocked all over. Power out. Good times! 😁

Only an idiot would say that climate change is not real. Only a bigger idiot would say that humans cause it.
Climated changed here to, 73* Saturday and beautiful, Today, 25* and headed to mid teens tonight. 6 inches of heavy slick "sunshine" blanketing everything.
Yep, X-ring. This climate's been changing since this rock has been minted.
Climate change is real.
Man-made climate change is Bull*
A whole host of things determine climate changes. The real impact of many of these are not understood. Yet the world is full of experts on the matter.
Like I've said before. When it comes to the climate you have to have your head buried in the sand to not understand that what we do alters things on this planet. You also have exaggerated expectation, to think we can control it on the scale some seem to think we can.
Can any of the experts really know how an increase or decrease of solar energy coming through our atmosphere in minute amounts will change the climate over a course of hundreds, thousands, or millions of years? Can any of the experts say for a fact that our byproducts have or have not changed the amount of solar energy coming through our atmosphere?
Cities are hotter than the country side. Could be humans did that considering all the asphalt and concrete we place that absorbs heat and all the heat producing items and activities we have. That is small, very very small compared to even the slightest change in solar energy coming through our atmosphere.
We are a species on the planet and like all species we are a part of the whole. The "climate change" alarmist that think we can control cycles that have been happening for millions of years are not being realistic. People that think what we do doesn't matter aren't realistic either.
It's not either or.
Yup
The climate has been changing for millions of years. The problem is, that the liberals just realized it.
Ha! Well, this thread sure went sideways. I was really just joking around with the title to show today’s snow storm. Not meant to be actual political commentary.
Oh well! That's a gunbroker thread for you. Sometimes, they go where they go! 😁

You asked "Can any of the experts really know how an increase or decrease of solar energy coming through our atmosphere in minute amounts will change the climate over a course of hundreds, thousands, or millions of years?"
The answer is yes, and that article, and the similar articles it references, gives a thorough examination.
Nanuq907,
I appreciate the links. A thorough examination of what we do know still doesn't answer what we do not know. It does give us a much better understanding of cause and effect and allows us to make educated predictions. We know a lot. We know the Earth's climate changes and we know some influencing factors. There has never been a species on Earth that can do what we do. We can use the data we have to make predictions, but we do not know. What changes will our species influence create? We really can't answer that.
The process that created an atmosphere capable of supporting mammal life took billions of years. Mammals have been on the planet a very short. Much less time than some of the cycles we study.
To be clear I am not discounting what we do know. Only addressing there is much we do not know. The articles have phrases in them like " Our work sheds new light on", "earlier than previously thought" and other phrases of this kind. It's an ongoing study.
Still looks like shorts and t-shirts weather to me. What am I missing?
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
shoes.......
Nah, I don't live in the south.

I live near the Grand Canyon and tell these people that every layer they see was another climate from ocean to deserts. If only the dinosaurs would have drove a Priuis this wouldn't have happened.
