I sold two original ones a few yrs back for real good money. Colt has returned with them.
Colt’s Bringing Back the 3-inch Python in .357 Mag!

Colt is officially putting their 3-inch Python revolver back into production for 2022. Once a very limited run of only 500 revolvers, Colt is now remaking the 3-inch, six-shot handgun chambered for .357 Magnum.
Colt recently brought back the Python and it’s been a huge success. Offered with 4.25- or 6-inch barrel options, the new Pythons blend the timeless design with improved modern manufacturing methods and an updated, stronger frame.
Like the scarce “Colt Combat Python,” the new 3-inch model has a full-length underlug and ejector rod, a single vent rib, interchangeable full-size sights front and rear, and an exposed hammer for double- and single-action shooting. Apart from some internal changes as part of the update, the only major change is the grips and the finish.
The original revolvers had a deep blued finish and small boot grips. The 3-inch Colt Python has a semi-bright stainless finish and ships with standard full-size grips, although those are easily replaceable. The included grips are checkered walnut with a silver Colt medallion.
Of course, the biggest difference between the modern 3-inch model and the rare classic revolver is that these are not irreplaceable pieces of Colt history.
These guns, while they are collectible, even heirloom handguns, are meant to be carried and used. They can be loaded with full-house .357 Magnum rounds or light .38 Special target ammunition for different shooting roles, from teaching new shooters, target shooting, revolver sports and naturally, self-defense, if needed.
Weighing in at 40 ounces unloaded, this compact revolver still has enough heft to help control recoil, even shooting hard-hitting ammo. It has an overall length of 8.5 inches and measures about 5.5 inches tall and just over 1.5 inches wide at the cylinder.
The trigger pull is rated to about 8 pounds in double action, give or take, and about half that in single action.
The 3-inch model is priced the same as the other new Pythons at $1,499, although demand for these in particular is going to be up there. If you’re interested in picking up a 3-inch Python, jump on the opportunity when you find them in stock.
