Remington 1100 hard trigger pull

I inherited a Remington 1100 from my fil. Looks almost like the day it was made. How do I lighten the trigger pull??? Way to hard for any accuracy. Do I need to install an after market trigger or is there an adjustment. Oak

No adjustment that I can recall Oak. Pop out the 2 pins and the trigger assembly should pull out. Check it out and make sure that the springs aren't all gummed up. Some of the older powders, such as red and green dot, were very messy. Could also be a piece of shot that got back in there too. You can easily cock and fire the trigger to see what's going on.
As above, I found a wheat seed making mine "different."
As toad67 and Grasshopper said give it a good cleaning. One caution is to hold the hammer with your thumb if you pull the trigger when it isn't installed in the action. I've seen a couple of them damaged because they didn't have the bolt to stop their motion and absorb some of the energy. If cleaning doesn't work you could try a Timney sear and spring kit.
Kind of pricy but a lot cheaper than a new trigger assembly. Bob
Question??
Accuracy?? Are you shooting slugs?
No, just number 6 shot for rabbit.
I didn't mean to be snippy.
I just checked a newish Rem 870 and the trigger pull varied between 5 & 7#. Just how heavy is your gun's pull?
First, let me state that ANYTHING you do to modify the trigger on any firearm is strictly your liability.
That said, you can polish the mating surfaces on the hammer/sear connection. My Remington 870 has a trigger pull of (+ -) 4 pounds, breaks cleanly. By polish, I mean using the finest grit stone you can find, and using a light (WD40) oil, clean off the machine marks, not changing the angles. Unless you are willing to purchase a new trigger/hammer, DO NOT get aggressive!!!!
That being a semi-auto, there could be something wrong with the disconnector which might cause drag on the trigger.
