Cold Marines

It's 11:00 PM and there is a Sikorski CH-53 chopper flying low over the building, beating the heck out of the air. I guess they are doing some kind of training by the airport which is close by. It is 35 degrees and I hope those Marines have some warm clothes.

They do that periodically up here, bringing in groups of troops for "arctic conditions training". They drop them up in the Ship Creek drainage past Arctic Valley.
They usually make it a day or so. Then they call for rescue.
I sometimes think of having my Scouts troop hike in there to show them how it's done. -35F camping is child's play when you know what you're doing.
The Marine Corps does not care if you are cold,as long as you do what you are told.
I remember being asked a few times if we maggots were tired yet.........you learned quickly not to answer the questions
I bet if you guys had asked nicely, your sergeant would have given you a cup of hot cocoa.
