Philly boasts of DEMOCRAT supermajority control where criminals are treated as victims rather evil amoral sociopaths that prey on people. Since criminals are considered victims, they enjoy a lax justice system which rewards bad behavior.
Remember the GF riots and how the mayor told the police to back off so the looters could destroy their own city. Further, the city was one of the first to defund their PD. Such is typical DEMOCRAT dogma.
Difficult to pity these Philadelphians. Election results show DEMOCRAT getting over 90 percent of the votes.
Not me, but any more it is hard to name any big city that doesn't have the same kind of problems. Sadly with all of the new progressive policies like defund the police, no bail release and downgrading felonies to misdemeanors it is up to the individual to be the deterrent for these types of criminal behavior. Some complain about all of the armed citizens creating a wild west scenario but don't understand that it's their liberal policies driving gun sales and concealed carry. Just another example of politicians not thinking things through before pushing their agenda on the public. Bob
I can get cheese steak sammies in Utah. I used to fly into Philly to visit my aunt in New Joosie. I never gave a thought to going downtown. The drive up I-95 from the airport always gave me the willies. But it was a whole lot better than flying into Newark.
...Philly?...I cant imagine anyone living ANYWHERE up north,,,If I was to move from Texas, I'd go West, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona...high desert or mountains...nowhere close to Yankee Land...
Several years ago, my son in law worked as a union pipefitter on a job in Philadelphia. He said they didnt dare go anywhere unless they had a group of atleast four co workers. And these were all big country boys.
Wow that was quite the video. I got totally turned around with all the people shot. Who was shooting who????
Some will die in hot pursuit
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
There's an old Cops episode that was filmed in Philly that blew me away. They would find somebody shot on the street and they would pull up in a patrol car, heave the body in the back and head for the hospital. No para medics, no triage, no backboard for neck or spine injuries, nothing. Sargent looking around nervously saying go, go go, . He explains later that if patrol car with lights on stay too long people will start shooting at them. Later they go to a Chinese restaurant that has thick bulletproof glass over the counter. Thug sticks his handgun in the money slot under the glass and shoots one of the cooks over the stove. I wouldnt live in a place like that for any amount of money.
I live 30 minutes from that sewer. We don't ever cross that bridge unless we are heading to our mountain house. The only time we really went there, was to the Italian Market. And hell yes, we were packing.
Philly is an Eden compared to Camden, NJ ... just a short 5 minute hop away across the Ben Franklin bridge.
Food and entertainment venues are excellent in Philly. I used to shop there often when I lived in NJ, albeit- mostly in daytime.
It's being willing. I found out early that most men, regardless of cause or need, aren't willing. They blink an eye or draw a breath before they pull the trigger. I won't. ~ J.B. Books
