Stepped out on the deck and every dog in hearing was barking, then there would be a lull and six to eight different coyotes in different directions would start yipping and the dogs would start up again.
seems to be two weeks early, maybe going get an early spring this year?

they come in some what close to us and I hear them on occasion calling but for what ever reason they have not killed any of the chickens to me is amazing . I have seen there tracks around the pen and the chickens run free range in th efield behind our house in the day time and they could easy get n the pen maybe our smell or the dogs or one other guess the skunks that we have living here 😲 last 3 or 4 years that share our cats food LOL
I live up on the side of a mountain with a valley below me, and I can hear them all around on my side, then they'll answer back from across the valley on the far hillside. I remember when we first moved up here, I thought they were wolves.
Then one night I heard the local wolf pack just below the house. Wow.
Y'all are a bunch of Smut Peddlers ! 🤣
Yupper, they're getting paired up here in north MO and it's earlier than usual.
Snow on the way with tolerable temps so hoping to give them 'my best shot(s)" in the next few days.
They are pretty active here in central MO…hoping to get out next week and come to our usual understanding….which is as long as I don’t see you, I won’t shoot you.
Ive been barking all winter and it didnt seem to speed anything up for me!
JimmyJack, Did you go around and properly MARK your territory ? 😆🤣🤣
My wife says I'm always in the rut.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
It's tough to 'mark territory' when wearing long underwear, jeans, and canvas pants due to the cold.
I agree, but at my age you have to mark your territory about every 45 minutes whether you want to or not.
Ain't that the truth !!! ... when temps hover in the teens, the Last thing you want is wet BVDs. 🤣
