Our mailbox is a little ways from the house up the driveway. USPS has what they call informed delivery... and if you sign up for it , they send you an email each day telling you what is in the mailbox. If I would have known about this when we had the P.O box in town, I would have only went when there was something of interest in the box. Same thing now with our large mail box.

I tried to sign up for it here a couple of years ago. But the tiny post office in town wasn't set up for it. Maybe I'll try again.

Wife has an app on her phone that shows what is in our mailbox. Can check 24/7 from anywhere.
I just tried to sign up for it again, no dice, my address is not currently available for this service. In other words, nothing has changed in the last 2 years.

Have informed delivery to my home address, get mostly junk mail there.
Important mail goes to my P.O. Box. Tried to sing up for informed delivery there and was told I would have to change all my mail going to the P.O. Box to the street address of the building that my P.O. Box is in, then my Box number. Didn't think it was worth it, to go through the hassle of changing ALL my mail that way.
living in the country with the mailbox 25' up the drive from twp road...NOT GOOD ENUFF.....had orders to move it or else ....moved it 25' facing the twp road.......some paper shuffler has a job
Yep it's pretty handy. I signed up for it several years ago here in Hampton, GA. I didn't have any mail worth walking to the mail box for yesterday so I'll wait until the next time I receive something worth while before I walk out to the box.
