I recently won an auction and I am unable to pay them with my credit card through gunbroker. They told me to call their shop and do it that way.
Should I be concerned?

Nah, your cc should have fraud protection in the unlikely event there is a problem.
Absolutely no concern
No reason to worry. I've done it many times.
Well, yes & no. I also won an item last week. The seller stated he would accept master card, visa, & American express. Within 10 minutes after the auction ended the seller called me and wanted to know how I wanted to pay. I told him I would use my CC. He then told me his CC machine was broken and could I pay by paypal. I told him no way, call me back when your machine is working. Then I get this from gunbroker.

I now see the seller is no longer a registered user.
Clays has a good point. If the seller has good, and plenty of feedback I'd be good with giving my card # over the phone. You can also get the phone number, and see if the place is legit.
Sounds like you got lucky.
I've called in a credit card several times when I have won an auction on GB. Never any problem but they all have had several A+ feedback and have been reputable sellers.
