Mr. Smith Goes To Washington

Just watched that movie. Through out the movie Deeds and other Senators direct comments and questions to "Mr. President". It occurred to me that the vast majority of HS and college level students and their equally illiterate elders, don't know that "Mr. President" is the Vice President of the U.S. !

I wonder how many would be shocked and/or afraid that Kamala Harris presides over the Senate as well as her other duties ? I wonder if they realize how in that capacity, she makes us vulnerable and has more power in that office. than is possible in her elected office ! ... Civics is no longer the part of any curriculum ... so how could they ? I can't help but think that "we" as a generation have failed to impart the correct knowledge to our legacy !
