Recently picked up one of these. I'm favorably impressed, considered that this is one of many rifles made to a price point. I haven't had a chance, yet, to "wring it out" due to weather but I'm looking forward to it. I also have its predecessor, the MR-7. I've often wondered why the MR-7 wasn't more popular. It has many of the features that we liked in other rifles all rolled into one. Stuff like the Win. 70 safety, Rem. lock-up, Ruger 77 stock and bolt handle, Browning A-bolt removable magazine--and still we didn't buy it. ??

I had one in 30-06 when they first came out it would shoot just over 1" groups but it wasn't picky about ammo no matter the brand I would get 1"- 1 1/4" groups I ended up giving it to a cousin that went thru rough times and had sold all of his Rifles to make ends meet.
I remember when they MR7 came out and I thought they were a darn nice gun for the money. I don't know whether it is true or not but I was told by a couple factory reps that they infringed a little to closely on some competitors products and to avoid costly legal battles, stopped production. When that happened, I had a customer buy 4 of our remaining inventory to give to his boys when they got old enough to hunt. He said that his had worked so well, he thought they were a steal for what they were priced. Bob
i bought on several years ago in a local pawn shop, $300.00. the really good thing is it is chambered in 280 rem. very nice, accurate rifle.
I bought a youth model in .243 several years ago. It shoots good. Seems to be a well made rifle.
