Is it possible to contact other winning bidders thru GunBroker email system?

Hello all. My first foray into the GunBroker Forums ... I didn't even know it existed!
Anyway, on to my question. I recently won an auction here, and am having a little trouble with the transaction. The seller had three auctions ending within a few minutes of each other, so I was wondering if the other two winning bidders were having the same problems with this seller that I am.
Obviously, if their transaction went okay, then I'd be inclined to believe mine will work out as well. If they are having the same problems I am, then, well, that would tell me that I need to take further steps, as well as maybe alert GunBroker to this seller.
I tried to read the rules, I don't think I'm breaking any with this post ... am I?

Well technically yeah, as there is no one on the forums who can help. But civil question like yours usually do get a pass. The ones that get shut down are the posters who come in here with a chip on their shoulder, and are trashing GunBroker.
To answer your question, no there is no way to contact another bidder. You can only contact the seller. May I ask, what is going badly?
I'm no expert, I'm not even allowed on the expert category but I think the best you can do is watch the sellers feedback to see if the other item bidders gave negative feedback or for negative feedback in general. If he happens to be on the forum you can search his user name.
The mere fact that you read the rules means I'll give you to a Gun Broker pat on the back:
As to your question, no, there is no way to contact other winners or bidders through the GB system. To follow up moderator Horse Plains drifter, what's going on?
The only way to hunt down someone is if they are also a seller and have items listed on Gun Broker that you can click on and send a message to. I'd give your transaction a little time to complete though....patience is a virtue! There are a lot of sellers on here that have listed items in their spare time and have full time jobs and homes to deal with too....just a guess. Contacting other people will not help you in any way really, so whatever is going on I'd send a message over to Gun Broker support and see if they can't push to get things handled faster.
Thanks for the comments and info.
I really didn't think there was a way, as I tried to find one, but to no avail.
As for my situation ... over two weeks and not even a tracking number from the seller. Always an excuse as to why, and keeps kicking the can down the road so to speak. Tells me to rest assured that it's on the way, and sorry for the inconvenience. I paid promptly with two USPS money orders as requested (over $1000, so had to get two) in good faith, with the agreement that it'd be shipped when payment was received with tracking. Well, according to tracking #'s, the money orders have been delivered and cashed. Still, no tracking number. He won't even answer the phone now (I did talk to him last Saturday, and again last Wednesday, following up why there was no tracking given as promised).
He says (email thru GunBroker) if it doesn't arrive Monday, that he'll refund my money via Paypal. For some reason, that seems strange to me ... am I wrong here?
I guess I'm just getting nervous about a possible scam. That's why I was asking about the other two auctions the seller had that ended within minutes of mine. No feedback has been left one way or the other for the seller (by the other two buyers). I'm trying to be a gentleman, and I don't want to leave negative feedback (don't know if the seller would even care).
I did contact GunBroker support, but haven't heard anything.
I also read the - if you think you're being scammed - thread, and the pictures on the auction have only been posted in the auction, no where else on the web, so there is that, I guess.
Soooo, what do you guys think? Any words of wisdom for me?
Yes. Save your money and buy a farm.
Sounds like one of those expensive lessons. Did the guy have good feedback?? Does he have other items for sale?? How long has he been on GB??
Let's see the auction. Post a link for us to see.
I thought that was against a rule.
If a mod wants me to post it, I'll post it.
Oh, and thanks so much for the advice, lol.
The guy is like me, been on GunBroker for several years, but only a handful of feedback as a buyer, all good, but none as a seller.
WOW. You really did read the rules! Send me a link to the auction in a private message- don't post it in the open forum. I will forward the link, and your concerns, to Gun Broker HQ. Understand that most of the GB staff is in Las Vegas for the SHOT Show, so a response may time time.
Okay, I think I did that right. If not, please let me know, and I'll try again. Thanks.
I have your info. During your brief time in the forum you've done everything right. Keep it up and you'll have my job by the end of the month! Best, Mark C.
This forum is similar to another forum I've been on for several years now. First rule of thumb is ... just behave.
By the way, what does your job pay? 😎
Don't join up for the money! I became a moderator in 2008 and an admin in 2013. During those 14 years I received a free Gun Broker hat. That's been the extent of my compensation.
Must be doing it for "the love of the game."
Ehh, what about me????
Hey, those hats are rare, valuable, and soon to become a collectors item.
You gotta earn them stripes Private.......
Just thought I'd come back and offer an update.
Last week I received a check for $400 from the GunBroker Buyer Protection Program. That's the max you can get (to my knowledge). It's not the entirety of what I was scammed, but it's not a total loss either. Three months, sending in the required info 2X by fax, 2X by snail mail, and 2X by email, and three months later, viola.
All my other transactions on GunBroker during that period went flawlessly, as one would hope and expect.
My appreciation to those who helped me in this (you know who you are).
Thank you for circling back, sometimes things don't work out and we just have to bite the bullet, I'm glad you got at least some compensation.
Glad to see you got at least some of your money back. Also, to echo Ruger4me, thanks for stopping by and sharing the outcome.
If you paid by USPS money order and the item was never delivered than that is a FEDERAL crime. I would file a complaint with the Postmaster at the post office that you purchased them. Sounds like you have your ducks in a row. Time to release the dogs.
I hope you still have the bottom carbon copies of the two USPS money orders. If so make photo copies for yourself - the take the bottom carbon copies to the post office ask for the post master/mistress and request an investigation by a postal inspector - because what happen to you is 'mail fraud' and the USPS takes a very dim view of it - and jail time as probably not what the 'seller' would desire and they might find it in there best interest to do the right thing. Best Regards - AQH
