Late Visitor at the house

Most people know to call before coming over to the house. Strange car in the driveway appears... I meet them in the drive just as they get out. Young man with a letter in his hand. Thought... well probably a process server... Not ... he had my Wifes 1099 from the State for taxes. I thanked him . He did ask.. what kinda gun was handy since we live in the woods.. I just smiled. I told him you don't think I came out of the house without one around now do you? still good people around that would drive 5 mile to bring you a letter that was in their mailbox.

Smart move. If our alarm goes off, we look at the video. If it is someone we know, no problem, if not, they will be met on the driveway, and asked what their business is, 9mm or 45 in the belt. We live 1/2 mile off the nearest highway on a dead-end road.

He noticed some large holes in an old washing machine next to my back building. I only showed him the magazine. No mention of caliber. I ask his name and give it a few days I will look his address up and send them a pizza .

we get the wrong mail and packages what seems way too often from USPS UPS fed-ex all of them each year

and we also have ours delivered wrong . . over the last couple years I just return them to the post office or call the delivery company's . I use to track down and deliver them but last thing I want is to be shot holding someone's package or mail at there door ... before I can explain

a couple years ago a fellow knocked on my door he had a menards rebait card he found in the parking lot of menards I knew I lost it but figured some one would just use it ( about 50.00 or so ) I offered him money for his trouble but he refused said he was going to be in the area visiting friends and just stopped by as its a post card menards rebaits send out one side has my name and address on it ..

flip side I have called and had the delivery service ask me go to your neighbors one of them may have your package

I explained my point of view *&^%$ you and your horse ,

you delivered it I have no idea to who and sure not going looking

Motion sensor and bright outside lights are a great thing
