NEW YORK, Feb 4 (Reuters) - Lawyer Michael Avenatti, who rose to fame for taking on then-U.S. President Donald Trump before a string of criminal charges ended his legal career, was convicted on Friday of defrauding a former client, porn star Stormy Daniels.
Avenatti, who faces up to 22 years behind bars, had pleaded not guilty to embezzling nearly $300,000 in book proceeds intended for Daniels.
The verdict by a federal jury in Manhattan followed a two-week trial in which the brash, 50-year-old lawyer represented himself.

Back when the originl trial ended and Stormy had to pay , she was booked at every sleezy srtip joint in and around Springfield MA and over to Boston. It was funny hearing the ads on the radio on the lib stations
I will wait to see if he gets 22 years. Two things the judge is still a lawyer and from what I have seen these types of crimes never get the maximum.
Just had one locally that stole 1.2 million in PPP loan funds and just got probation and restitution ordered.
He was a Democrat hero, four years ago. There was serious talk among Dems that Avenatti would run for president. What a slimeball.

I believe he still has another trial coming up in California for embezzling millions from his clients there. That one was ruled a mistrial last year and will soon be retried. I wonder if he has enough money left to hire a real lawyer or if he is stupid or arrogant enough to represent himself again since it obviously didn't work out so good this time?
I think after he is sentenced and in prison we should take up a collection and send him a pair of Nike's and a Stormy porn dvd. Maybe we could get Trump to autograph them first. Bob
On occasion I watch MSNBC, got to see what the libs are up to..I watch, so you don't have to. One day about 4 years ago, in the middle of the Stormy scandal, Mika [the host of Morning Joe] said "It is going to be a Stormy day!" The libs actually thought that Avenatti and Stormy were going to run Trump out of office.
Yes, Trump paid her $120 grand in a non disclosure agreement. No doubt he was banging her and yes he lied about it. But these agreements are done all the time and they are legal.

Well like President Trump or not, I think that you are looking at this as a multiple choice test when it’s only True/False you’ll have a choice between.
Right now he the strongest Republican out there and if you choose not to vote for who they put up, you get to vote for weaker police, socialist policies, more gun control and higher taxes on you, your kids and grandkids.
