Nursing home where my Mom is does ACH's from a banking account. Since Janurary the nursing home cannot get the money withdrawn. They are telling me they are still working to correct. Now 2 months and still the problem . Question... I would take it the Nursing home has some special number for their account to withdraw funds from the bank. Could the bank put a block on that number to withdrawal? My Mom is not the only one with this one bank having problems.

County payroll where my wife works had a similar issue. Payroll was late and deposits were not made/posted. Turns out when they ran the payroll the save button was hit instead of the send button.
I authorized withdrawals when she was admitted . Nursing home has had no problem since last March till Jan of this yr getting the automatic withdrawals. Can a bank lock out an account ?
Well I am going to call the main Headquarters in Cleveland tomorrow. The branch manager at Moms bank gave me a hard time and would not let me open her security box. After I said I would step outside and call the police she let me see it. I filed a former complaint with the main office since she denied me opening it and closing that box account . I showed her the POA months ago and they have a copy of it. My gut is telling me she done something to retaliate . I have received no notice . I did get a formal letter from the main headquarters sorry they were sorry this happened. I enclosed the state law on POA's and what the banks have to follow .
Does the nursing home have any trouble with the government which may cause a lock-down on their banking accounts ? It happens so don't be surprised if it does.

No clue. Only one bank is affected.
If push comes to shove, cancel the home's access to the account, and set up a recurring payment from the bank to the home. Then YOU are in charge of payments.
What Nanuq said, but do it at a different bank. Tell the little tyrant lady you are closing ALL your accounts there - and you'll take it in cash, right now. Then write to the bank president to explain why.
Since 2 months have failed, I notified them I would pay quarterly or semi annual by check. In person.
I don't feel comfortable since it is screwed up and they cannot get the money. Well what if something went haywire and someone or electronically they emptied the account.
No way to use a different bank. Moms SS each month is deposited there along with a GM pension. I am not going thru the hassle to swap them to another bank. That account is solely used for Rent at the nursing home. Her other bank is for bills. I will not co mingle money from another account to pay her nursing home bills.
Another option would be to have your bank automatically transfer the funds to an escrow account every month and have the escrow company automatically transfer the funds to the home. It will cost you a percent or so, but you will have the funds isolated from the home through the escrow company and will be notified each month when the transfer takes place.

Is 4537-7259-8804083-046 a good bank account number????
After fighting this for a month and a half...Finally one payment was pending this morning.
Depends. What is the PIN for the account?

While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
You're gaining. Ridiculous you have to go through this mess.
