Shot some sporting clays yesterday
Yesterday, (Sat 2/12) was really nice here in the mountains of Western NC & South eastern Tn so the wife and I decided to drive over to Benton Tn and shoot some clays. It is a 2 1/2hr drive over Nantahala and down thru Ocoee, but very scenic. Even the kayakers were on the river. 15 stations of rather difficult targets as they must have had them set for a previous tournament. Non the less it is just entertainment and the wife is enjoying her new shotgun. She had previously been using my Benelli 20 gauge Legacy but wanted an O/U. For this past Christmas she got a new Beretta SP Vittoria 20 gauge sporting and is really liking it.
On the drive back just outside of Murphy NC we deviated from the bypass and took the old Hwy 64 and found a little restaurant (Julie's), that had excellent country style food. (Biscuit with hot apple butter melts in your mouth), and the fried green tomatoes were excellent as well. Highly recommend it.
All in all, was a great day for the both of us.

Excellent! 20 degrees here in mid-Michigan so I think I'll forego the pleasure of a round of clays today. A few years ago the weather seldom stopped me from shooting, but I have either gotten smarter or lazier, so a day at home is in order. Bob
A real good day. And finding a place with fried green maters, SCORE
