Can someone ID this shotgun stock?
Good afternoon. I was looking for a SKB 885 stock that I could cut down and put a recoil reducer on. The wood the gun came with is so beautiful I didn't want to cut 1" off it. In my search I purchased what I was told to possibly be a SKB stock. After receiving it in the mail and looking it over I don't believe it is. Can anyone tell by the shape, color and checking pattern what model it belongs to? Seller stated it was a 12ga and made in Japan. I'm not sure how they determined that. There is 3 stamped characters in the middle. The first character I can't make out (possibly a U), 2nd is 6 (or G) & 3rd is F. These are in the 5th photo. Last clue, I noticed the butt where the pad touches is curved and not flat. I'm kind of leaning toward a Winchester pedigree. Thanks in advance.

Kind of looks like a SKB 500 stock to me. Bob
I think you are on to something. I have a 500 as well. I got to thinking the grip cap was too fancy for a 500, but could be a 600 or 700.
Found a 600 on google that matched the checker pattern, brass inlay and grip cap. Mystery solved. Thank you, sir!
you are welcome. Bob
