Stock car racing was fun to watch back when the cars were somewhat close to being stock. You could at least tell a Chevy from a Ford. They had a good run but those days are long gone. The sport is on life support now. They need to just pull the plug and let it die of natural causes.
living in Orlando I definitely want to take my kids and make a whole weekend out of it. This year, Im flying out of town Sunday for meetings Monday morning but next year I will be more intentional.
Me and many family and friends were glued to TV even at the tracks on rare occasions watching arguing and all pumped up for our favorite drivers every week most talk at work were about the races
But honestly the death of Dale Sr shut that door its was closing due all the new rules and limits and sponsors demands anyway it has turned into big time wrestling as comparison
But it went south big time for all of us shortly after Dale Sr passed seemed more bs was dumped on rules and limits
Yes I had other favorite drivers Dale was not the only driver we followed most all them have moved on to owners or died
The old old days of run a slightly modified car were the best now every single part is custom me for each track and car set up
Sorry to be a downer on it should have not posted but as I said power is out and bored right now sorry to hurt any feelings
I do miss the old racing though
A local track a few miles from my house all local battle it out every weekend during the nice weather months we do go there
Just mostly Good old boys and gals having fun
it is what it is ... Still Racing. Competition. Speed. New race cars.
The Fabulous Hudson Hornet. Real stock car racing.
In 1957 a Pontiac Star Chief won the race. Pontiacs ruled the drag strips also with their Super Duty. Been looking for a while to find a 57 Star Chief like my Dad had. I got my rear end beat quite a few times playing with the inside dome light while he drove. Little switch by the drivers door in the rear seat hand rest.
Bubba was the final straw with his noose. They need to get rid of the restrictor plates, go back to real cars and stop trying so hard to appeal to people who don't watch it anyway.
About the only racing I watch anymore is F1 and its getting bad.
All this kneeling and social justice crap is really turning me off to all sports.
It's become an "Engineer's race" with small tweeks making big differences.
Wish they'd go back to stock bodies and smaller engines so the speeds would be in line with what the tracks were designed to handle.
Talked to a guy with the new Mahindra car and he was complaining that last night's race was all about staying in the lineup -- the train was running 15 mph faster than individual cars could muster.
I may have it on the catch the wreck reruns
NASCAR passed along when Dale went to meet his maker.
Can't stand the PC garbage of today.
Well I still enjoy watching the Racing in all the different classes.
7.30 Truck Series Race tonight 100 Laps
5.00 Infinity Race
Here ya go, Select! Ya might have to take up sellin' Mary Kay cosmetics, given the paint color, but it sure looks good!

I started watching Nascar back in the '50s when Lee Petty was driving. Then when he retired and Richard took over, I really watched it with a passion. The last race I watched was the last race Richard raced in. I haven't had any desire to watch another one since.
Joe
That is Charp
The Xfinity race tonight was pretty good.
If I could afford it I'd drive that sum-beach!
I was into drag racing on a local level at a strip some 40 miles out of my hometown. My older brother raced there with a stock Ford Falcon and usually brought home trophy's because he was the only one in his class.😁 Oh the younger days sure were fun!
There was this customized Henry J at this strip that about lit the pavement on fire!
Race Day ...2.30 The Great American Race
My 7 year old grandson loves NASCAR.He and his mom and dad are at the race today.
Sellout Crowd they will have a great time
My long gone boss in the sawmill and carpentry biz claimed he had the fastest car in Ft. Kent Maine. I hope he can look down at his daughters son and see his successful racing career in Sprint cars.
