Retired used car salesman. I have pretty much the same piece and it has never had a hickup, more accurate than I am, and enough rounds for even me to make a perp uncomfortable. But it sure won't milk the cows!😉
Thousands of those pistols rode in cop's holsters and many departments kept them for years. They were strong tough accurate guns, but heavy. When Glock showed up cheaper and lighter it was the death knoll for steel S&W cop guns. I would be ashamed to list a gun that dirty.
Needs a good cleaning for sure I have not looked at prices for many years
At one time they were the 9mm to have
I have had a few over the years but always had to part with them another gun or just bills to pay such is life lol
I have one now for at least 15 to 20 years and have two complete uppers for it one with adjustable sights and one with fixed sights and a hand full of factory magazines 15 round for it one of my sons will end up with it some day
Will add it never failed to go boom but as noted the plastic guns came on the scene and the rest history
$50 is not excessive for shipping. It should cover the seller anywhere in the contiguous 48 states, especially if he pays for insurance. Maybe it will only cost $40 if the buyer is in a nearby state. No one is getting rich on shipping overcharges.
I think most of the crud on the S&W is dirt/grease, but it sure looks like rust on the front sight. If it were easy to remove, I think that he would have done that before taking the photos.
Just sold one today at gun show for 499.00 OTD. that included tax ab back ground check. It was police marked an was nice an clean too. They are nice range guns. But i made sure it was clean an put it in a gun rag.

Well, they are a top 25, but that thing is far from excellent BUT he started it at a penny so it's up to the market now.

Camera is too nice it shows the dirt and imperfections
I chuckled to myself when I saw the description...If this one is incredible then mine is stupendous !

In the mid 80's they took away our Colt revolvers & issued Smith 639s. A real POS.

Is $50. ground shipping normal for a hand gun? Seems high.
They are decent enough pistols, but "incredible?"

He is only trying to eke out a living.
He was wearing gloves in some of the photos... probably didn't want to get his hands dirty from the gun...🤣
Had to be a truck gun.
