with a windchill of 12 below. Calling for -35 windchill tomorrow. How do we deal with it here? The local school went to a two hour delay due to chilly temps. And we still have milk and eggs.

Bless all of you folks in the Great Frozen North. I'm in the northwest corner of SC.It got minus 10 here a couple of nights in 1985 and 80% of the cars wouldn't start.Usually the 20s is about as bad as it gets here.
We saw +7 on this side. Now down to -3 at 7:50. Sure would like to see more Californian Repellent (snow) to go with these temps!
It was almost 70 yesterday, now it is 15. Oh, and last Thursday we had a record one day snowfall. Dang weather won't make up its mind.

like MtJoe it was -5 this morning with strong winds sending the wind chill chart into the -15 to -20 realm. got up to +9 this afternoon heat wave. and to think just a couple days ago it was 50 in the pm.
We had 93mph wind and heavy snow last night. Windows on the 3rd floor coated with 2" of snow and ice. Drifts you wouldn't believe out front.

danged you all bunch of whiners, and most of ya are retired. don't ya know when you retire you just look out the window if it looks cold put on more clothes and sit down in recliner and nap, if it is hot out take some clothes off and sit down in the recliner and nap, seems pretty simple to me.........
Here in northern lower Michigan it is 11 degrees and that is the high for today. There is a stiff NE wind at about 10mph and it does make for cold hands trying to do anything outside. Yesterday we had 25 degrees and RAIN that froze when it hit the ground, trees, buildings, steep asphalt driveways, etc. It was a skating rink just going from the house to the garage!
I followed hillbillie's advise and just sat my butt down in my recliner, book in hand but fell asleep before finishing the first chapter!
This AM with the cold we were blessed with about an inch of real snow. That inch gave enough traction needed over the ice sheet to move around!
